iMENTORS has been busy recording and mapping information on all participating entities and the connections between them. ERAfrica is a new entry!
ERAfrica is an EU-funded project with the ambition of creating a "European Research Area Network" for the African continent.
ERAfrica unites seven EU countries (France, Germany, Belgium, Spain, Portugal, Finland and Austria), as well as Switzerland and Turkey, with three African partners (South Africa, Kenya and Egypt) in a core consortium built around a mutual recognition of the value of unifying efforts to strengthen intercontinental research collaboration and promotion.
Five main work-packages provide the starting point for EU-Africa collaboration and each of these work packages, led by an ERAfrica consortium member, links in an ever-expanding crescendo of new projects and partners, including private and not-for-profit companies, and governmental and international organizations.
With iMENTORS different groups of stakeholders can easily find other ICT4D projects complementing to theirs and opportunities to plan new e-infrastructure development projects. iMENTORS enables organizations to connect with each other, share resources and link their ICT4D project proposal to the past or on-going projects.
